Taken on Sept. 8, 1942 – Hal Hawkins finishes one of his flight trainings in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was 19 at the time. The aircraft behind him was a WACO UPF-7, which was used in the Civilian Pilot Training Program. This photo also appeared on the front page of the Kalamazoo Gazette.
