The RoadRunner Club Association Benefit Golf Tournament was held at the RoadRunner Golf Course on February 14 after being delayed for a week by rainy weather, and what a sweetheart of a Valentine's Day it turned out to be.

Building on major corporate donations from RoadRunner Club ownership, The Springs RV Resort and parent company Boa Vida Communities, the Association of homeowners put together a coalition of volunteers, hole sponsors and golfers to raise a new record of over $34,000.

LPGA Pro Brandy Casey was at the 5th Tee all day, offering to hit over the lake for the golfers for $5 a pop.

Sacrificing her body relentlessly for the cause, Brandy estimates that she hit around 120 tee shots that day, raising over $600 all by herself!

The day of good fun, drinks, and hot dogs roasted by the Cate's ended with Scott Michelli winning the Duck Derby by coming the closest to hitting a rubber duck into a bucket 20 yards away.

There were over 20 Borrego businesses sponsoring a sign at one of the tees. Ron Neu, for the 17th year in a row, handled making all the signs.

One hundred percent of the money raised went to support the vital work of the Center's work in providing services to our senior citizens.

"On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff and the entire community of Borrego Springs, We say to the volunteers, sponsors and golfer involved in this amazing effort, we say, "Thank You!""
