Soroptimist Toast to Borrego

It was quite the turnout for the Soroptimist International Borrego Springs second annual "Toast to Borrego" wine tasting fundraiser event, held on Dec. 2 at the Steele/Burnand Anza-Borrego Desert Research Center.
Event goers were treated to five various wines that were selected by Kimberly Jones. There were also non-alcoholic options for those who just wanted a "mocktail." These delicious wines were also paired up quite nicely with the appetizers prepared and served by B-Side Caters.
Also on display, ready to be raffled off were the uniquely themed gift baskets that were made by the Soroptimist members. Each gift basket had its own theme that made it all the more interesting. Gift certificates were also able to be won thanks to the generous donations by the local sponsors.
This event was indeed special as the funds from this event and many others hosted by the Soroptimist programs help young women reach their education and career goals. They also have other programs that help young women in the community with furthering their education.
The Soroptimist International Borrego Springs does a lot for our town and we must continue to support their mission and events.
