Autumn Jubilee in Julian

Last updated 11/9/2023 at 1:33pm

Fort Cross Old Timey Adventures, an educational adventure farm that specializes in living history field trips, is home to 12 acres of outdoor fun near the town of Julian. This small family business run by husband and wife team, Jesse and Doreen Cross, is something that few people know about but is steadily becoming a popular field trip and tourist destination.

The 8th annual Autumn Jubilee event will take place on Saturdays and Sundays starting September 23 and will continue through October 29.

Activities like archery, tomahawk throwing, slingshot range, farm animal visit, interactive reptile show, musical wagon rides, hoedowns & jug band shows, and much more, will all be available.

Activities included with a $5 general admission are the haunted lilac maze, pumpkin patch, walking trails, tire swings, tug-o-war, and other old-time games on the farm. Also happening during the upcoming spooky season is their annual Haunted Harvest event! Guests will enjoy music and dancing, ghost stories, and of course a haunted hayride every Saturday night in October.

"Pumpkin season is one of the most anticipated times of the year for us because fall is so popular in Julian," said Doreen Cross, co-owner of Fort Cross. "We meet people from all over that are so happy to come experience fun family memories during this time of year. It's a great honor for us to be a part of those memories for people."

Tickets for activities may be purchased through the website:

It is recommended to buy ahead of time to guarantee your place in the day's events. Walk-in participation will be dependent upon open availability for activities. Discount codes are available on the event page.

Throughout the year, Fort Cross also offers U-pick berries and vegetables, a spring Lilac Festival with 5 acres of lilacs that are available to the public, and a Holiday Hayride event on Thanksgiving weekend. Living History Field Trip events are offered year-round. For more information on all of the events that Fort Cross has to offer, visit their website at
