The team at Veridiam Inc hosted the students enrolled in Borrego Springs High School's Vocational Welding Class taught by Mike Kitten.

The students were able to see various manufacturing processes from machining, heat treating, & welding including advanced laser welding used in the medical device applications, and Gas Tungsten Arc welding (GTAW) used in aerospace and nuclear applications. They were also able to see some of the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods that Veridiam employs.

The students and I would like to express our appreciation to Brian Joyal CEO and to all the employees at Veridiam that made this possible. It was a great tour, lunch and presentations by Chip Thomson, Lourdes Machado Chong , Elijah Rodriguez.

For over 50+ years, Veridiam has supplied welded components to the aerospace, medical, nuclear and space industries. This student visit allowed members of the Veridiam team to share their experiences and skills with the students across many products supplied to those end markets. Veridiam considers welding and other similar trade skills to be an essential backbone to US manufacturing.

A day well spent for our students.

The BSHS wielding program is up and running, with several improvements and equipment purchases. It will be great to see what the program comes up with next!
