Borrego Indivisibles will host a "No Kings: Vote Early" rally and voter information table on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Mall, 571 Palm Canyon Drive.
Volunteers will help residents register to vote, check their registration status, and make a plan to vote early in the November election. The event falls two days before California's Oct. 19 voter registration deadline.
Borrego Springs is one of 21 locations across San Diego County and Temecula holding events that day. Julian is the other event in the northeastern part of the county.
On Saturday, Oct. 17, volunteers across San Diego County and Temecula will hold 21 "No Kings: Vote Early" events. Organizers call this the next phase of the "No Kings" movement: channeling the power communities have built over the past year directly into the ballot box.
No two communities are the same, and each location has designed its own event around its own neighborhood, from library walk-to-vote routes to mutual-aid donation drives. The events are part of a broader election-protection effort to help every eligible voter register, check their status, and make a plan to vote before the November election.
Events are scheduled in Alpine, Balboa Park, Borrego Springs, Carmel Valley, Chula Vista, El Cajon, Fallbrook, Julian, La Jolla, La Mesa, Mira Mesa, University City, Ocean Beach, Oceanside, Ramona, Rancho Bernardo, Scripps Ranch, Temecula, Valley Center and Vista.

Unlike past "No Kings" mobilizations, there is no single mass rally planned for Oct. 17 in downtown San Diego. The upcoming "No Kings: Vote Early" day is designed differently on purpose.
"San Diego United, the coalition that organized downtown San Diego's 'Hands Off!' and 'No Kings' rallies, will not host a mass rally at Waterfront Park on Oct. 17," said Wendy Gelernter, San Diego United Organizing Committee member. "Why? Because those rallies were about showing the size and diversity of our movement, and we did! Oct. 17 is about putting that power to work: encouraging our friends and neighbors to vote, and to vote early. Smaller, local events give us the best opportunity to connect directly with voters and share both the importance and the joy of voting."
San Diego County's most recent mass mobilization, the March 28, 2026 "No Kings 3" day of action, drew an independently estimated 93,350 to more than 98,046 participants countywide, according to an analysis by Take Action San Diego, surpassing the 80,000-plus who turned out in October 2025. The San Diego Police Department confirmed no arrests and no reported crimes connected to any of the March 28 events.
Organizers stress that Oct. 17's Vote Early events are smaller, hyperlocal actions by design and are not expected to replicate those countywide numbers; the March turnout is cited here only as background on the level of sustained civic engagement in the region.
No Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters. All No Kings events adhere to a shared commitment to nonviolent protest and community safety. Organizers are trained in de-escalation and are working with local partners to ensure actions are lawful, disciplined, and rooted in the strength of our communities. No Kings: Vote Early is not affiliated with, coordinated with, or supportive of any candidate or political party.
