Dear Class of 2024,

You’ve made it seniors! It seems like such a long time ago when I met you all as 3rd graders and would watch you running around on the playground like crazies (you know who you are). It has been a pleasure watching you grow and change into amazing citizens of our school and community.

From your time here at Borrego, I hope you’ve learned that you are capable of achieving great things and that perseverance is key when challenges arise. Remember, it’s important to work hard and strive for your goals, but also understand that it’s okay for goals to change. Adaptability and effort are what lead to success. As the late Kobe Bryant said, “Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No excuses.” Take this into your next chapter of life whatever it may be, nothing can replace hard work and perseverance even when things get challenging. In a world of advancing technology, short cuts are an easy way out but beware of the dangers of taking shortcuts and not doing a thorough job.

As you move on from high school to a career, trade school, or college, I hope you carry Borrego PRIDE with you in all your actions: PERSEVERE through the tough times, RESPECT yourself and those around you even if you may not always agree, show INTEGRITY in your actions, stay DISCIPLINED to meet your goals, and always show EMPATHY to others situations you may not understand.

Congratulations, Class of 2024, on your achievements and best wishes for a future filled with success, happiness, and fulfillment.

With Love,

Mrs. Baay
