The Importance of BWD Employees

The Borrego Water District articles that appear in The Sun are typically about “things”. A new pipe, tank, well or wastewater treatment related topics are typically covered. However, to get all of things to work, it takes a dedicated team of employees to safely extract water from the Basin, chlorinate and serve to our residents and guests 24-7-365, including the unexpected surprise leak. The same level of dedication exists in the front office where all of the Board of Directors support and financial/billing activities occur. Making sure the revenues and expenses are accurately accounted for and within the Budget is just as important.

The BWD “family” had a recent scare lately when long time Borrego Springs resident and BWD employee Alan Asche had to undergo a health procedure, that definitely had some risk. Thanks to the great work of Alan’s doctors, he is experiencing a healthy recovery and was back to work a few days after leaving the hospital. All BWD employees provide a valuable service, and as Operations Manager, Alan has a wide range of responsibilities including Supervising the Crew, which if critical. The short time Alan was gone, Manny Marin and the Ops Department filled in for him admirably and kept the water flowing.

On behalf of BWD and its Board of Directors, we are all breathing a sign of relief that Alans health situation is improving and he is already back to normal. THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK ALAN!
