The Borrego Water District has recently completed two of the three tanks scheduled for replacement as part of a State Department of Water Resources Grant totaling $2.8M. The two old tanks, formerly known as the Twin Tanks, located at the west end of Palm Canyon is now one new tank specifically designed to blend into the environment. Both the tank shape and color were impacted during the design process due to the specific location, inside the Park, literally. Rams Hill #2 tank located east of the development has also been replaced. Last but not least, Indian Head tank is the final site and the old tank has been demolished and a tank identical to RH #2 is under construction. All of the aforementioned tanks had reached the end of their designed lifespan. Thanks to all of BWD Operations staff, especially Alan Asche, for his help in coordinating the construction with BWD Ops, the Contractor, neighbors/HOAs and State Division of Drinking Water to bring the tanks on-line.
