Chamber Comments

Just when we thought our stress levels might fall as the masks came off and the infection numbers came down, we are now faced with the tragic situation in Ukraine, which once again ultimately affects us all. So many of you are finding ways to help, and from a daughter whose mother felt the devastation of war as a child by having to flee for their lives as their home was destroyed by bombs, please remember that any size and type of help is needed and a blessing.

However, we must continue to look for the joy in life and something that always puts a smile on my face is reading the comments in our visitor’s log. In February, the Chamber helped over 500 visitors, not counting the many team chats each week at the Chamber Info Booth at the Farmers Market.

Comments from visitors (from around the globe) all have a similar theme “beautiful,” “fantastic,” “so lovely here,” “everyone is really friendly,” “the Chamber was so helpful” and so on, which also allows me to brag about our volunteers because the compliments towards their knowledge and friendliness is priceless. With that said, we’d like to welcome our new volunteer Jenny Huntley. Many of you may know Jenny as she is involved with several organizations in Borrego and loves the community. Welcome to the Team, Jenny!

As I said two years ago, let’s stay positive as we’ll get through this! Please appreciate and take care of the lovely community of Borrego Springs, it’s not to be taken for granted. The Chamber/Welcome Center is here to help so feel free to drop by or give us a call.

To sign up for the free Chamber Weekly eblast sent every Wednesday (available for everyone), send an email to visitborrego@gmail.com with the word eblast in the subject line, we’ll do the rest.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
