One of your favorite local shops is back open as of October 16, so get your orders ready to go.

Under the new ownership of Jeremy and Sarah Fife, this duo is ready to take on their first season of business in Borrego.

"We are very excited to welcome everyone back! Winter Borregan or year round residents, stop by and say hi. I think you will find, we've got something for everyone. Quality you have come to expect over the years from Bighorn Fudge and a cool place to just come and hang out/meet up with friends," owners Jeremy and Sarah Fife said.

The Fifes purchased the business earlier this year, and have been hard at work in revamping the space.

Over the summer, the Fifes have been hard at work, making some updates and changes in the shop. They have so far changed the paint colors, updated the cases and the overall decor, but have also added some indoor lounge seating, in addition to the outdoor patio dining area. One of the many notable changes they have done, they are now offering free high speed wifi to customers.

"What customers may not notice is our investment in technology from an order flow perspective and POS system. This will enable us to service customers more efficiently and speed up our service delivery, which ultimately adds to the guest experience," Jeremy Fife said.

Guests will also notice an increased focus on General merchandise items, such as decor, art, handmade local gifts and cards.

Jeremy Fife added, "We have partnered with a local San Diego county roaster and will brew several types of coffee daily."

"In addition, the new coffee and espresso (keep in mind we will continue to offer Seattle's Best, also) we have added menu items such as butter cream cupcakes, hot fudge brownie with ice cream, non dairy ice cream, non dairy date shakes and a variety of healthier choices on the bakery and snack side. We will also have French soda, plus our Italian soda specialty."

Lots of new faces on the service side of the counter - some of which you will immediately recognize – Gabby, Josefina, Jennifer and Karen. And, welcome back Bighorn Fudge veteran, Leyla!

They will have new hours of operation, Wednesday through Monday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and closed on Tuesday. And they say if this schedule is successful, they hope to be able to be open seven days a week.
