FREE Emergency First Aid – CPR Certification Course

The Borrego Village Association is offering a five-hour Emergency First Aid - CPR Certification course free of cost to all full and part-time residents of Borrego Springs on Friday, October 25 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The program is led by certified instructor Colin Macdonald from KitFox Outfitters in Ramona. Colin is a certified American CPR, OSHA Standard First Aid & Emergency Care instructor.
The course includes information about emergency assessment, rescuer safety, soft tissue injuries, care for shock, burn first aid, musculoskeletal injuries, medical emergencies, and some forms of sudden illness such as convulsions, seizures and poisoning. The program also includes sections on Heat & Cold related emergencies, Dental, Nose, Eye and Animal related first aid emergencies. The CPR component covers cardiovascular disease, heart disease, risk factors, prudent heart living, heart and lung function, and conscious and unconscious airway obstructions. One-Rescuer “full” CPR, Compression-Only CPR™, and a brief introduction to AED are included.
The Certifications earned in these courses are valid for two years.
These practical health skills will help make our community, and those who visit here, safer and healthier. The course is FREE of charge and includes all training materials and a First Aid / CPR Manual you can take home. Minimum age is 16 years old.

Space is limited. Pre-registration is required. The course will take place at The Mall, in the office of the Borrego Valley Endowment Fund (east side of The Mall, next to the Community Resource Center).
