Neave Trio Leaves Strong Impression

A full house of Borregans experienced the true pleasures of classical music at the Borrego Springs Performing Arts Center Jan. 30, thanks to a superb and varied performance by the Neave Trio.
A sweet violin in the hands of Anna Marie Williams (she also has a soothing yet commanding presence at the microphone); a mellow, deeply resonant and mesmerizing cello by Mikhail Veselov; and a virtuoso piano performance by Eri Nakamura all contributed to a fine evening of Haydn, Debussy, Brahms, and Arthur Foote.
Oh, and one composer only one person in the audience ever heard of – Astor Piazzolla.
I’m better at describing golf, but I’ll give this a shot: Williams’ range and fingering/bow techniques are the reasons we all love to hear a great violinist.
Now, we all love the Neave Trio.
