Julian Without Power Due To Extreme Weather
Last updated 12/8/2017 at 9:18am
Due to the high winds, and the recent earthquakes, the San Diego Gas & Electric Company has shut down power in several customers in Julian with no power.
SDG&E shut down the power Dec. 7 at around 10:51 a.m.
A generator was set up in the town feeding power to most of the businesses downtown, and is expected to be operating until normal power is restored.
The expected time of restoration is Dec. 11 at 4:00 p.m. The restoration estimates listed on the map may change due to weather and inspection conditions.
Crews will be in the area when the conditions are safe to assess the electrical system to determine how quickly power can be restored. Once weather conditions have improved and the line has been fully patrolled, power will be restored, according to an email sent out to customers.
School was also canceled due to the high winds.
The American Red Cross will be opening two emergency shelters this morning at 9:00 a.m. in support of residents impacted by power outages. At this time, SDG&E reports more than 5,000 customers are without power. Extreme fire weather continues in San Diego County today.
