Friday Sept. 22, the El Centro Sector Border Patrol announced they will be expanding the Border Patrol-Explorer Post 4108 program to Indio, California.

The Explorer Post 4108 program primarily functioned out of the El Centro Sector Headquarters, however, with the increased interest from community members, it was decided by the directors to establish a post in Indio.

Through this program, young people between the ages of 14 to 20 learn the role of law enforcement in the community. Law Enforcement Exploring is a Boy Scouts of America program.

The objective is to educate interested youths in methods and objectives of the law, and to encourage participation in these productive services, while providing substance abuse prevention education. They also learn the basics of what it takes to be a Border Patrol Agent.
