With an excessive heat warning issued in San Diego County, all ages are encouraged to head to the Borrego Springs Library to enjoy free air conditioning, wireless internet access, and a broad selection of reading material. The library will be open from 12 to 5 p.m. on Monday, and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20. The library is normally open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, but is switching hours that day to 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. to help locals beat the heat.
San Diego County Library branches serve as official 'Cool Zones' during the summer months, providing excellent service and resources to the people in need of a respite from overwhelming temperatures. County health officials urge the public to take precautions and use these county facilities.
“The San Diego County Library commits itself to offering the community a safe place to be during this heat wave,” said Deputy Director Susan Moore. “Come to one of our 33 branches and cool off while enjoying a book or discovering the many things our branches have to offer.”
The Borrego Springs Library is located at 587 Palm Canyon Dr., Suite 125. For more information, call the library at (760) 767-5761. For more information about San Diego County Library, visit http://www.sdcl.org.
