On behalf of our entire water watchdog group we would like to thank the farmers and golf courses in Borrego for draining our aquifer so far down there is not enough water left for hardly any growth to occur in our valley. We would also like to thank all the water boards and the “locals” who allowed this to happen over the last 60 years.
It means that for those of us who own homes the limited supply avail- able should drive up our home price APRIL 20, 2017 because there is very little water left for new homes to be built or much growth of any sort.
If environmental author Ed Abbey were alive he would be pleased.... he always said “keep it like it was.” And, what you see is pretty much what Borrego will continue to look like in the future because of our lack of water supply.
I’ll end by using another one of Abbey’s favorite quotes...”If there is anyone I failed to insult I apologize.”
