Superintendent Martha Deichler with award winner Denny Moore

Borrego Springs High School/District Office, Classified Teacher of the Year for 2016 was announced early this morning, with the honor going to Denny Moore, Lead Groundskeeper and thirty-five year resident of Borrego Springs.

Moore has been with the district for twenty-seven- and a half years; working first as a Custodian for the high school for five years. Having won the award twice already during his career, he was surprised and humbled by the appreciation. Martha Deichler, Superintendent, had this to say when handing out the award; "I am so pleased that this years award goes to Denny. He has always been phenomenal at everything that he does, and he makes sure that everything gets done. The late Mr. Christopherson always reminded me of how hard he has worked and how much he does for the schools and district. Congratulations and thank you for your dedication and hard work in our school district"

Mr. Moore and his wife, a bus driver for the district, are not able to make it to the staff appreciation celebration night, May 19, at the Superintendents house, but feel honored that the district took the time to personally hand out this award.
