BERYL Warnes delights in her craft at the Circle of Arts Show in Borrego Springs earlier this year.
The Julian Weaving Works is offering a two-day weaving workshop on June 4 and 5, with master weaver Beryl Warnes.
No experience is necessary and looms and materiels will be provided. Sign-ups are now open for learning one of four weaving applications: scarf, shawl or shrug, lap throw and table runner/rug. Each class costs $100, except the scarf class, which is $60. Space is limited for the shawl or shrug class.
You may recognize Beryl Warnes from her weaving booth at both the Circle of Art Show and Sale and the Borrego Days Desert Festival. She has been bringing her beautiful and colorful creations to Borrego Springs for many years; as she works in her booth, visually presenting her art for interested onlookers.
The classes will be held both days from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 30352 Highway 78 in Santa Ysabel, and checks should be sent ahead of time, designating which project you would like to endeavor.
