Final Farmers Market, Friday
Last updated 4/28/2016 at 8:25am
This Friday, April 29, will be the final Farmer's Market for this season and the last opportunity to stock up on fresh veg and baked goods. With so much variety on offer, the market has proved to be a popular destination for visitors and residents a like.
However, the market wouldn't be possible without the hard work and determination of the many stall holders that turn up week after week come rain or shine. This is what they have to say:
Raven Curtis - Candy Apple Pastry Co. in Julian, CA
"The market has been good this year, and it is worth my while to come, I love Borrego. We have been asked a lot if we will make spacial deliveries, but for now we will supply Carlee's with pizza dough and deserts, as well as Rams Hill."
Lidia Lira, left, and Elma Reyes - All About Art
"We are new here, this is our first time. We know it closes next week but we wanted to come out and get a feel for it and ask people what type of art they would like to see from us. Look for us next year!"
Larson Poole - Rivas Farms, San Marcos, Ca
"The market has been a bit slow this year and it might be due to the Canadians not coming down this year. Over all it's still a good market and we will be back – hopefully our crops will be in a better season too."
Khaled Baba, right, and Muntathar Ali Hasu, left, - Baba Foods – Hummus
"We love it here, we have 6 other markets we go to. We will be back next year and wish this market could be held longer – ending in May."
Emillio Carranza - Carranza Citrus, Valley Center, CA
"We love it here. We have organic produce and business has been good, it always is in Borrego."
Al Caspersen - Glass Blowing, Borrego Springs, Ca
"Its been a good year. I blow glass in my studio at home and live locally. I will be here for years to come."
