Salton Sea - Draws in Russian Filmmaker

A female Russian filmmaker at Columbia University launched an IndieGoGo campaign to fund her thesis film - Mother's Day. The team raised enough money to complete the film, but they need more seed capital to shoot the movie in the Salton Sea, the dream location and epicenter for sand racing.

The story surrounds one mother, Mags, and her desperate attempt to reunite with her estranged son under circumstances she would never have imagined. The film revolves around the fearless and passionate subculture of sand racing.

With a goal to raise $12,000, funds received will cover food, lodging, transportation, and security.

The film connects two great American film schools - Columbia University (director & writers) and USC (producing team). The team consists of professional trained and raw non-professional talent to bring the best of both worlds into one captivating film.
