A 21-year-old was arrested by border patrol agents Wed. March. 9, suspected of trying to smuggle 24.8 pounds of methamphetamine .

After approaching the Salton City checkpoint in a green Honda Accord, agents conducted a secondary inspection following a canine unit indicating at the vehicle.

44 bundles of meth, with an estimated street value of $248,300 were found hidden inside the car's floor boards.

The woman, drugs and vehicle were turned over to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
