4.0 Earthquake

A magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck 101 miles from Borrego Springs in the Riverside County area, centered 8km WSW of Ludlow, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A 2.8 tremblor occured first at 7.17a.m followed by the 4.1 at 7.32a.m with a third tremblor recorded at 2.7 later in the afternoon at 1.45p.m.

The quake was widely felt through Riverside County, with people as far away as Indian Wells, Beaumont, Yucaipa, Temecula and Murrieta reporting tremors.
