Sahara Mustard – Volunteers Needed - CANCELLED

We've been informed that the property manager already has a work schedule to remove the mustard. Great news! - Sam Webb

A large amount of fully grown Sahara mustard has been located on a privately owned citrus farm in Borrego Springs. The landowner has given us permission to remove these invasive plants . . . so now we are looking for volunteers to accomplish this task. This is a non Park activity.

Sonja Lane, of the Sahara Mustard and Volutaria Eradication Task Force, will be leading this mustard weed removal effort, which is scheduled for this coming Saturday and Sunday, January 30th and 31st from 8:00 to 12:00.

If you would like to help exterminate this invasive plant, which threatens our annual wildflower bloom, meet Sonja at the citrus farm, which is located at 808 Di Giorgio Road, one mile north of the Henderson Canyon Road intersection. It will be on the left side of the road.

You should wear a hat and bring water, gloves, and small hand pruning shears.

On behalf of the Sahara Mustard & Volutaria Eradication Task Force I want to thank everyone that, over these past five years, has and continue to pull these invasive plants that threaten our beautiful desert State Park.
