Salton City - FIND Feed Students

Last updated 11/18/2015 at 11:44am

Sea View Elementary School students in Salton City each received enough food for three days from FIND Food Bank on Tuesday Nov. 17.

Despite the best efforts of Principal Tim Steele and several staff members, who would drive to Cathedral City each month to pick up food for students, they were only able to gather enough to support nine to 17 students. Every student at Sea View qualifies for free or reduced price meals. "We have 517 students on campus. You look at throwing a lifeline to 17 students and how do you choose when they all have the same need," Steele said.

FIND aims to provide fresh produce as much as they can, with children being provided a variety of fruit and vegetables at the end of each month.
