Anza-Borrego Foundation's Desert Photo Contest Goes Digital

Last updated 10/7/2015 at 1:51pm

The Anza-Borrego Foundation held its first photo contest ten years ago. To celebrate, this year the Anza-Borrego Foundation has teamed with the Borrego Art Institute with some exciting changes. The contest is joining the digital age and there is no longer an entry fee. Photographs will be uploaded via or between August 17 and December 15. The public will be able to vote for their favorite photographs from December 16 until December 31. The top twenty entrants in each category will then be asked to submit a printed copy of their photograph for the judges to review. Borrego Art Institute will be offering a photography class for Borrego Springs elementary school students and the students will also have their photographs hung in the Gallery show in February. The Anza-Borrego Foundation and the Borrego Art Institute will hold an Opening Reception to show all of the finalists and place winners on February 6, 2016. The 2016 Anza-Borrego Desert Photo Contest is sponsored by Borrego Valley Inn and Borrego Springs Resort. The Anza-Borrego Foundation launched its first Anza-Borrego Desert Photo Contest in 2006 to celebrate the unique and natural beauty of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
