Error Found In Borrego Water District's Water Reduction Calculations

Last week the Borrego Sun reported the BWD's news of a running average of 23 percent reduction in water use. There was a 16 percent reduction in June and a 26 percent reduction in July. The error occurred for the month of August, which turned out to be only a 10 percent reduction instead of the 26 percent previously reported. To further dampen the spirits, the BWD's recent calculations for September actually indicate a 14 percent gain in water use. This brings the running average down to only a 10 percent reduction. BWD's President of the Board, Beth Hart said given this new information it's important that residents realize we are in jeopardy of failing to meet the 25 percent reduction of our water usage as required by the state.
