On Sept. 6 at about 1:30 p.m., a westbound 2014 Subaru rolled over on Montezuma Valley Road. The driver and his passenger sustained injuries after the driver made an unsafe turn to the right toward the ascending mountainside. Going 45 mph, the driver lost control of the vehicle, struck the mountainside and the car rolled over onto the roadway, blocking both lanes close to the mile-marker 8. The driver and passenger exited the car. The driver had pain to the head and chest, while his passenger suffered broken ribs, according to the news release. They were both taken to Palomar Medical Center. DUI was not a factor in the accident.
