Rain Finally Comes for Borrego

Last updated 9/21/2015 at 9:03am

On Sept. 15, and after weeks of cloudy skies and thunderstorms with minimal chance of rain (10 percent today to be exact), Borrego Springs finally received showers for the first time this summer, 0.15 inches. For what seemed like an eternity, the town, and its inhabitants, had been waiting eagerly, holding on to merely threats. It finally culminated in a combination of cool winds and rain that began at 12:30 p.m. and that took hot temperatures away from the desert, even if it was for a few hours before the rain dissipated at 2:40 p.m.
