Another San Bernardino Fire

The Summit Fire was reported at 12:25 p.m. yesterday and has now burned one hundred acres south of Big Bear Lake in the San Bernardino National Forest. The fire is considered 50 percent contained and its cause is currently under investigation. A Red Cross shelter has been established at the Big Bear Convention Center and area schools have been closed. Fire management is under Unified Command with San Bernardino County Sheriff Department and Big Bear Fire Authority. The wildfire’s smoke is visible in the Coachella Valley, as was the nearby Lake Fire that was reported on June 17; burning 31,359 acres of the San Bernardino National Forest.
