Two Hikers Rescued From Trail

Last updated 7/30/2015 at 10:18am

After 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday night, a 22 year-old Desert Hot Springs man and a 23 year-old Palm Desert woman called for help saying they became lost while hiking and that neither had water. After being rescued from South Lykken Trail by Palm Springs police, it was determined that neither hiker needed medical treatment. Summer temperatures easily reach 100 degrees and higher in the desert. Authorities ask that hikers use caution on local trails and carry plenty of water. It’s also a good idea to let someone else know where you’re going and when you expect to return.
