The unusual temperatures seen across the valley, which normally average at a high of 107 degrees, will drop a full 10 degrees by Thursday, a descent which is expected to continue through Saturday.

117-degree highs recorded on Tuesday and Wednesday are considered the highest temperatures so far this year, according to AccuWeather records, beating out the previous record of 116 degrees recorded on June 18.

A slight rise is expected as the next week begins, however forecasted temperatures should only reach 107 degrees. Whilst there is a small chance of thunderstorms stemming from a weak subtropical disturbance forecasters say to largely count on sunny skies.
