Pilot Dies After Crash Landing

Last updated 7/27/2015 at 1:47pm

“I don’t think that I’m going to make the landing,” were the last recorded words of the pilot of a Beechcraft F-35 before he tried to land in the 4500 block of Adam’s Street in Riverside on Sunday evening. Although the Riverside Municipal Airport prepared for an emergency landing after a distress call from the pilot signifying engine trouble, the plane hit a fence between two homes and burst into flames. Both homes and the families inside escaped injury and the City of Riverside Fire Department quickly got the fire under control. The pilot was pronounced dead on the scene and his identity has not yet been released.
