Postage Rate Increase – 2018

The United States Postal Service (USPS) will implement new postage rates for several mailing and shipping products beginning Sunday Jan. 21.

Domestic Mailing:

- First Class Mail Letters (1 oz.) rates will increase by a cent from $.49 to $.50 when purchased at the Post Office. Each additional ounce will cost $.21.

- The discounted "Metered Mail" category for First Class Mail Letters ( 1 oz.), which includes online postage providers and postage meters, will increase from $.46 to $.47. Each additional ounce will cost $.21.

Domestic shipping:

- Priority Mail Express will see an overall rate increase of 3.9% in 2018. Commercial Base (online postage rates will start at $21.98 (previously $21.18).

- Priority Mail will see an average rate increase of 3.9% in 2018. Commercial Base (online postage rates will start at $6.55 (previously $5.95).

International Shipping:

- Priority Mail Express International will see an average rate increase of 3.9% in 2018. Commercial Base (online postage) rates will start at $40.38 (previously $38.90).
