Border Patrol - Weapons Arrest

A motorcyclist attempted to avoid an inspection at the Highway 111 checkpoint Monday June. 27 resulting in a short chase and quick arrest by Border Patrol Agents.

The suspect, a US citizen, entered the checkpoint but continued moving in an attempt to avoid an inspection, according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency. Agents chased the 31-year-old motorcyclist into a residential area, where he was subsequently arrested and brought back to the Indio Border Patrol station for processing.

Following a search of the mans vehicle and belongings, agents found a large knife and a loaded .22-caliber revolver in his backpack, according to the agency.
